IMI Kolkata invites your participation at INTERNATIONAL MARKETING CONFERENCE to be held during December 18-19, 2017 at the IMI Kolkata campus. The conference proposes to bring together academic and managerial perspectives on the proposed theme "Marketisation and Marketing in Emerging Markets".

Kolkata is renowned for its repute of being the “City of Joy”. Owing to its rich cultural heritage and way of life, the city gives you a sense of warmth and belongingness. The city is certainly a worthwhile tourist destination, famous for its ancient buildings with a touch of British architecture and other tourist spots.

Area of Expertise – Consumer Research, Marketing and Responsible Business

Russell W. Belk is Professor and the Kraft Foods Canada Chair in Marketing at the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1972. He is the co-founder of the Association for Consumer Research Film Festival and has been the President of the Association for Consumer Research and the International Association of Marketing and Development. He has over 550 publications to his credit. His research involves the meanings of possessions, collecting, gift-giving, sharing and materialism. He has received several accolades like the Paul D. Converse Award, two Fulbright Fellowships, Sheth Foundation/Journal of Consumer Research Award and honorary professorships across four continents.

MARKETISATION AND MARKETING IN EMERGING MARKETS

In the recent times, the power of market has been instrumental in controlling more of the social resources. Scholars acknowledge that as market forces legitimise consumption and also promote well-being and satisfaction considerable attention is needed to address such market-level problematisation in the context of the Emerging Economies and all the important Asian markets. This Conference proposes to bring together academic and managerial perspectives to address this issue.

Please submit original, extended abstract or full paper only (in Adobe Pdf or MS Word) at imikmarcon17@imi-k.edu.in

Please note: Articles must be typed in MS Word, using font Times New Roman, size 12 and paragraph spacing 1.5.

The authors should register for the conference within the specified date. Others interested to attend the conference also need to register.

Note: Registration fees are inclusive of taxes as applicable. The registration fee includes conference kit, refreshments and lunch for two days of the conference and networking dinner on the first day (i.e. 18th December, 2017).


Travel

IMI Kolkata will not bear any expenses on travel for the participants attending the conference.

However, cab services are offered by OLA and UBER at reasonable rates in Kolkata. You may download the apps on your mobile phones for your convenience. Prepaid taxi services are also available at the airport and the railway stations. Participants may avail such services at their own expense.

Accommodation

Participants are to make their own arrangements for accommodation. Kolkata offers you with a wide range of premium and budget hotels and guest house accommodation.

Limited accommodation at the International Management Institute Kolkata campus may be provided on request subject to availability. The charge for the same is INR 2300 (incl. taxes as applicable) for single occupancy AC room per person per night. For Non AC single occupancy room (not with attached bath), the charge is INR 1000 (incl. taxes as applicable) per person per night.

Refund Policy
